Manchester United are keen to add new strikers to their team before the summer transfer window closure, and Patrick Dorg gave them insight into how the sides are trying to correct their goalscoring struggles
Patrick Dolg says Manchester United have returned to the club’s offensive legacy and put the mistakes from last season behind them. Dolgue won Bournemouth 4-1, setting the opener and second in an all-action display from the defender.
Dolgue, who signed in January for £25 million, appears to have solidified his position as Reuben Amorim’s first choice left-wing back with Lampergingrain and the threat of attack. And the 20-year-old is sure United will run to the ground once the new season begins, shocking those who hope they will run short again.
“We hope we see a United team that’s attacking more. It’s on the front paw. It’s trying to dominate every game,” Dorg said.
“We’re taking the rest of the preseason to make it even better. It feels like we’re getting there. We play more as a team and run for each other.
“On the pitch where we play as a more active team, we run more in the press, so we know that the preseason will help everyone. Everyone is positive as everyone has left last season and everyone is looking forward to the new season.

“Last season came in a difficult moment, but I think the team has improved a lot. It’s more like a group than an individual. I feel everyone is positive and looking forward to the season.”
Dolg provided assistance from United and Danish teammate Rasmus Hojlund, opening up a goal against Bournemouth, saying the goal would bring a surprising sense of confidence in the striker. United are pushing for the 700 million pound Benjamin Sesco to sign from RB Leipzig, but Dolg backed Hodzilund to prove his lasting value.
“He’s doing really well,” Dorg said. “He looks sharp, he looks healthy and I’m very happy for Rasmus to get his goals.

“It’s been a difficult season for Rasmus, and I think it’s really important for him, not just for anyone, but for everyone, to get back to where he and his team need to be in the league this season.
“He was happy because we need strikers to deliver the pitch. We talk in training and try to understand each other on the pitch.
