Gabriel Jesus’ position on Arsenal’s future is clear as transfer interest grows

Gabriel Jesus has only played a limited role at Arsenal recently, but his current contract is nearing the end and he will make a decision after lifting the Premier League trophy.

Gabriel Jesus is determined to stay at Arsenal and fulfill his contract.

The Arsenal striker, who has just one year left on his contract, is attracting significant interest, with clubs in Italy and Spain issuing warnings. Jesus’ contract situation has also alarmed clubs in his native Brazil, as the 29-year-old has limited playing opportunities this season.

However, Jesus, who first joined Manchester City in 2017, wants to remain at Arsenal and the fact that he will be granted British citizenship this year was a factor in his decision. Brazil international Jesus wants to play and is aware of the interest, but he still loves Arsenal and is not in the mood to force a move, despite the possibility of a move.

And while his status is an important factor, he also wants to write Premier League history, which he takes very seriously. He has spent four years at Arsenal and is keen to see his contract through to the end.

Jesus is hoping to become the most prolific Brazilian in Premier League history, with him currently on 79 goals, while Roberto Firmino has 82. With another year at Arsenal, Jesus is likely to break that record and go down in history. He would also be a very attractive option as a free agent.

It remains to be seen what Arsenal will do this summer, but they could be looking to revamp their attacking line-up, with Jesus and Kai Havertz competing with Victor Gokeres. However, Jesus is in no hurry to leave and even spoke about his future on ESPN Brazil last weekend after scoring against Arsenal at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

“There’s a lot of talk[about the future]but I’m being very honest. It’s not easy for a player who’s always looking to improve and trying to help what’s happening on the field. But like I said, I have a lot of respect for my coaches and especially my teammates, and I have a lot of respect for them,” Jesus told ESPN.

Let us know what you think. Should Arsenal keep or sell Gabriel Jesus? Comment below.

“When I came back, I was able to contribute. Many thought that I would come back calm and that it would take more time. But from the first game in the Champions League, I undoubtedly came back with everything and played most of the games. Mentally it was not easy, but I bounced back and respected the manager.”

“The future belongs to God. I still have one year left on my contract with Arsenal. I want to play and I want to prove to myself that I can play at a high level.”

“I could have scored a couple more goals today (against Palace). This shows that even with such a serious injury I am still a player who can perform at a high level. I have my head in the right place and I think every day how to keep my head in the right place, train hard and stay focused.”
