Mikel Arteta has enjoyed a great season and picked up personal honors as he helped the Gunners win the Premier League and reach the Champions League final.
Mikel Arteta was named LMA Premier League Manager of the Year, but missed out on the main gong. The Arsenal manager enjoyed a brilliant season in North London.
He helped the Gunners end their 22-year wait to win the Premier League, ultimately finishing seven points clear of bottom rivals Manchester City. Arteta could further increase his momentum as the north London side are set to face French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
Before that, Arteta has already won another personal award, being named LMA Premier League Manager of the Year at a glittering ceremony in London. The Spanish coach was present along with his staff.
Despite winning the Premier League award, Arteta missed out on the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy for manager of the year. Coventry manager and former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard claimed the gong in his place and was handed the trophy by England head coach Thomas Tuchel.

“Of course, it’s not the same without Sir Alex himself. We wish him all the best and a speedy recovery and hopefully he’ll be on stage with us again next year,” said the German. “Until then, I will read this letter to you, Frank.”
Tuchel read a letter from Ferguson and added: “Dear Frank, congratulations on being named LMA Manager of the Year. You should be very proud of what you and your team have achieved.”
“Your personality as a coach and leader was clearly evident in how your team played some great football this season with confidence and confidence, and I enjoyed watching you.
“While speaking to you, I found that you possess the important qualities of great humility and a curiosity to learn. Frank, I am sure that winning this award means a lot to you. We wish you the best of luck in the Premier League next season.”
Coventry had a sensational season under Lampard, gaining promotion to the Premier League. The Sky Blues have amassed 95 points on their way to winning the league and will join Ipswich Town, who have secured an immediate return, in the battle for the top spot.
Hull City will be a Premier League club again next season after defeating Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.
