Tottenham are claimed to have ‘resumed talks’ to sign Sabinho from Manchester City. Spurs tried to bring Savinho, 22, to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer after he made 48 appearances in his debut season for City, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists.

Despite coming close to a deal, Savinho ultimately remained at the Etihad Stadium. Since then, the Brazilian, who joined City from Troyes for £30.8m in June 2024, has struggled to earn a regular starting spot and has fallen further down the pecking order after Antoine Semenho arrived in January.

In fact, the former PSV and Girona player started just six Premier League games throughout the 2025/26 season, one of which was Sunday’s dead rubber defeat to Aston Villa. Semenyo has established himself as City’s first-choice right-winger, with a wide range of options at his disposal, including Jeremy Doku and Phil Foden.

Tottenham are hopeful of Sabinho’s return after his playing time for City has declined. Preliminary talks between Spurs and City are “again underway” and Sabinho is “open” to a move to north London, according to Fabrizio Romano. Newcastle United are also reportedly among the other clubs interested in him.

He is still worth around £60m and has five years left on his contract with City. If Tottenham go ahead with their move for Sabinho, he would join Xavi Simmons and Dominic Solanke as the club’s all-time top signing.

Spurs, coached by Roberto De Zerbi, are looking to bounce back from a disastrous defeat that saw them finish 17th in the Premier League, and are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window. Andy Robertson has reportedly given verbal consent to join Tottenham after bidding farewell to Liverpool on Sunday, bringing an end to his nine-year chapter at Anfield.

Robertson, 32, has spent the past nine years at Liverpool, making more than 350 appearances and winning some major accolades, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League title.

The Scotland international is expected to bring much-needed experience and quality to Tottenham’s backline, which will compete with Destiny Udogie and Jed Spence for the left-back spot.

However, negotiations for Robertson with Spurs may still fall through, with Juventus listed as potential suitors for his signature. Even if Tottenham are successful in signing the full-back, he would be a fantastic free transfer as his contract with Liverpool is coming to an end.

Another man who could walk through Tottenham’s doors in the coming weeks is Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi, who has been in “high-level negotiations” with Spurs on the condition that the club secure their stay in the Premier League.

Like Robertson, the 29-year-old Argentine will become a free agent this summer when his contract with the Cherries expires. Despite significant interest from other countries, Tottenham remain the favorites to secure Senesi.

The former Feyenoord player has been at Bournemouth since 2022, making over 100 appearances during his stay on the south coast. This season he was a key element in the Bournemouth team that finished sixth in the Premier League and qualified for the Europa League.
