Andoni Iraola has just left Bournemouth and the Spaniard has reportedly been approached by AC Milan, who are already looking for their next manager.
Andoni Iraola has been approached by AC Milan to represent him after leaving Bournemouth, the Italian giants have said.
Iraola’s departure was announced months ago, but the Spaniard ended his three-year spell on a high after leading the Cherries to Europe for the first time in their history. His style garnered much praise throughout his time on the south coast.
As a result, a number of clubs were keen to sign him, with Milan making their move just 24 hours after the end of the Premier League. Iraola was one of the people involved in Manchester United’s departure after the sacking of manager Ruben Amorim, and is also attracting attention from Crystal Palace.
In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen have also expressed interest, but Milan are aiming to advance in the league by appointing a Spanish player who has not yet proven himself as a big club.
The Italian team has fired manager Max Allegri, who failed to qualify for the Champions League, and has approached manager Iraola, Sky Sports reported. Milan lost seven of their last 14 games and had to watch rivals Inter win their second Serie A title in three seasons.

Owner Redbird Capital, an American investment group, said in a statement: “The final match was completely at odds with previous performances and last night’s disappointing loss in the final match marked a clear failure of the season. It is time for change and a comprehensive reorganization of football operations.”
CEO Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igri Tare and technical director Geoffrey Moncada have also left the club as part of a major reshuffle.
Iraola left Bournemouth with an 18-match unbeaten run, eventually finishing in 6th place. “We knew it was almost impossible to win Europe, but the owner said he wanted to stay in the Premier League, but I wanted Europe,” he said after Sunday’s final game.
“This European qualifier is just one way for me to say thank you to everyone as I finish this season by giving back to the owners, players and supporters.”
