Many Premier League clubs are showing long-term thinking ahead of the summer. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the teams to sign new players before the transfer window opens.
The Gunners are reinforcing their position as Premier League champions and could potentially win the Champions League trophy for the first time in the club’s history. Manager Mikel Arteta is relying on the depth of his squad to end Arsenal’s 22-year league title wait, but is determined to strengthen his side to stop them closing the gap on their rivals.
Liverpool grabbed headlines last summer with some eye-catching signings, but were unable to seriously defend their title. The Reds hope these stars can combine more effectively next season as the club focuses on returning to its previous heights through smart recruitment.
Meanwhile, United need to strengthen the depth of their squad to support their Champions League campaign. Michael Carrick will want to bring in the right players and keep the momentum going in the dugout at Old Trafford. Here we introduce the new players that the three clubs are already hoping to welcome in the summer.

Arsenal announced the signing of teenage prospect Daniel McCarron in February. The 16-year-old is set to join the club’s academy from Northern Irish club Dungannon Swifts this summer.

The promising centre-back impressed for the Gunners during his trial period. McCarron represented Northern Ireland at U17 level and made his senior debut for Dungannon Swifts in April.
Arsenal said in a club statement: “We have reached an agreement for young defender Daniel McCarron to join us from Dungannon Swifts in Northern Ireland as part of our scholarship offer for the 2026/27 season. The player has also signed a pre-contractual agreement which will see him enter into professional terms with us.”
The Gunners are also expected to make Piero Hincapie’s loan from Bayer Leverkusen into a permanent deal, but that is yet to be finalized.

The former Premier League champions are ready to welcome important new signings in the summer. Jeremy Jacquet agreed a £60m move to Anfield in February, with the defender set to remain at Rennes in France for the remainder of the season.
The 20-year-old centre-back then suffered an unfortunate shoulder injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season, but he is looking to back himself up to establish himself as Liverpool’s first-choice player. But he is not the only defensive addition the club has acquired.
Austrian side Vienna’s promising player Ifeanyi Ndukwe, who turned 18 in March, is also set to join the Reds this summer. The Austria Under-19 international is firmly established in Austria’s Vienna reserve team and made his first-team debut in a short spell earlier this month.

United signed Fortaleza CEIF talent Cristian Orozco on a provisional contract earlier this season. The Colombian youngster is highly regarded as a defensive midfielder and is set to join United’s academy this summer.

Orozco will not be able to complete his move to Old Trafford until he turns 18 in July. United have agreed to pay a fee of around £750,000 for the teenager, and see the Colombian U17 international as a potential long-term investment.
