Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice said he felt the Gunners would go on to win Premier League honors after their defeat to Man City. The England international enjoyed a FaceTime chat with Peter Crouch and Steve Sidwell just hours after his title was mathematically confirmed.

That moment came on Tuesday night thanks to a 1-1 stalemate between Bournemouth and Manchester City. When the final whistle sounded, jubilant celebrations broke out among the Arsenal players who had gathered on the training ground to watch the match unfold.

It has been a season filled with drama and uncertainty, but City appeared to be in control of the race after beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium just last month. However, a 3-3 stalemate with Everton meant Arsenal’s fate was back in their hands.

A day after the Arsenal midfielder won the title, co-host Steve Sidwell contacted Rice via Facetime on the Peter Crouch Podcast.

“I’m going to play nine holes, but I’m sitting at home thinking, I need to go out, I need to play golf,” he said.

Asked if he had slept, he said: “I slept for a few hours but that’s it. It’s unbelievable, it’s unreal.”

“Honestly, it hasn’t really caught on yet, and it probably won’t for many years to come. But it’s amazing.”

He was then asked about his feelings. “It’s frustrating because obviously during the season you only think about the little losses you’ve had over the last few years,” he said.

Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundles to include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, plus 135 channels and complete coverage of the Premier League and EFL from Sky.

Sky has over 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more, with at least 215 of them live from the top flight, along with F1, darts and golf.

“You think something like this will never happen again and after leading for so long obviously that’s at the back of your mind and given how good a team City were and how good they are, I think we’re in hell.

“But after losing away at Man City, we knew, we got a lot from that day, we were like, ‘We still do it, we still believe’, so we’re just excited, just excited.”

The celebrations will continue this weekend as Arsenal are set to lift the Premier League trophy following their final game of the campaign against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.
