After completing his first term, Wrexham was busy in the transfer market ahead of the championship season and completed Connor Cody’s transfer.

Jamie Vardy paid tribute to Connor Cody after the defender completed his move from Leicester City to Wrexham. Fox has earned a £2 million commission from the move as the Welsh side is trying to equip the championship after winning the promotion last season.

Coady struggled to be impressed during his time at King Power Stadium after injuries ruled out him from the start of the 2023/24 promotional season when Jannik Vestergaard stepped in and didn’t hand over his spot. The 32-year-old was featured in the Premier League rotation, but failed to prevent a disastrous season that ended with relegation.

Nevertheless, Coady appears to have left a positive impression on Vardy, who left Leicester at the end of 2024/25 after his contract expires. “All the best brothers. What a player and person, what a god,” Vardy commented on Coady’s exit message for Leicester fans.

Writing on Instagram, Coady said:

“Last season was tough for all of us, but we only want the best thing for the entire football club than this season.”

Vardy’s name has been linked to Wrexham this summer, but the 38-year-old doesn’t look like he’ll be moving to Racecourse Ground. The future of England International before remains in the air as Wrexham is in the process of moving business.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney gave Phil Parkinson a Go-Ard to invite six new players. And in addition to Coady, the Dragons are said to have agreed to a £2 million fee for Sheffield United Welsh international striker Kiefer Moore.

Wrexham also reportedly has shown interest in signing Pedro Lima on loan from the wolves. Molineux hit Chelsea on the signature of the 19-year-old Brazilian.

The deal arrived after Lima arrived to confirm that he would sign Sports Recife’s Chelsea, but the teenager eventually signed a five-year deal with the wolves. And now Wrexham is about to establish himself in the championship, so he could end up providing the minutes of the players.

Former Crystal Palace boss Ian Dowee thinks Wrexham won’t be able to take on Premier League places long. Speaking to Boylesport, Dowee said: “I think it’s only a matter of time before Wrexham tries. I think they’ll really try. You look at the club, see some of the teams in the championship and you think it’s going to be hard to get out of this league.

“That being said, Wrexham has a fan base, they have support and they need very clever management, but they have very clever managers. They are challenging and every opportunity to try this year, but Phil Parkinson will be very happy.
