Manchester United concluded the US positive preseason tour by becoming the second winner of the Premier League Summer Series. Reuben Amorim’s side wasn’t as impressive as Bournemouth’s offense, but gave us a real glimpse of quality as they drew 2-2 with Everton in Atlanta.
Bruno Fernandez scored from a penalty spot after James Tarkowski fouled Amado in the area. Iliman Ndiaye equalized with a tap-in on the back post before the break, but Mason Mount got out of the bench and produced a curling finish to recover the lead.
Everton again drew the level in 74 minutes via Freak’s own goal when Amado’s clearance rebounded from Aiden Haven and Fernandez and Ndiai were discarded on the midline.
Express Sports Rates highlights United players as Amorim and his team prepare to return home to Manchester.
Man UTD Player Rating vs Everton
Altay Bayindir: 3
United have real issues in the goalkeeper division. Andre Onana is unconvincing (and injured), but Altai Bayindeal fills you with even more confidence.
Renee Yoro: 7
Monumental season ready. One of three players starting all pre-season tour matches. He’s very calm and determined with his tackle.
Matthijs de ligt: 6
Although well defended in the first half, he faced a tough battle with Everton’s pace when he moved shortly after Harry Maguire’s introduction.
Luke Shaw: 6
He was as unguaranteed as he was against Bournemouth in United’s slowest and most defensive performance of the preseason.
Amado: 7
He absolutely annoying himself with his sparkling toes. It draws a foul of United’s first half penalty, providing a serious offensive threat from the wingback.
Manuel Ugarte: 2
A miserable outing. We were very fortunate to be lost as he was paid, including Everton’s initial goal, and lasted for 72 minutes, as he was paid to do so. Especially in the middle, Amorim’s system won’t work if one of the players can’t keep up with the tempo.
Kobbie Mainoo: 6
Unlike his mid-partner, he didn’t see out of place in the middle of the sea of technical quality on the United side. Like Fernandez, he needs a more defensively sharp player next to him.
Diogo Dalot: 5
Play left to accommodate Amado, and it’s not very effective. Its location belongs to Patrick Dorg.
Bryan Mbeumo: 7
An impressive first run. The ball was sharp and already had a great understanding among his dynamic offensive partners. More coming.
Bruno Fernandez: 6
It was a distinctive cold from the penalty spot, but it wasn’t much to offer to scream. When Everton was equal for the second time, he was in a shaking contest with Ndiaye.
Matheus Cunha: 7
If Benjamin Sesco’s pursuit doesn’t become a plan, his middle selection could be a hint that he will start the season as United’s No. 9. I enjoyed a dignified link-up with Amado.
Alternatives
Patrick Dorg: 7
Fans left their seats with a fun flick that created a chance in the dying embers. He is well settled.
Mason Mount: 8
He continues his fantastic ending from the final semester of the preseason. His Bilbao shade braces his sweet strike to send United 2-1 in the second half. If he can avoid injuries, he has a role to play in this system.
Iden Heaven: 6
It’s very unfortunate to set your own goals. He knew nothing about it.
Harry Maguire: 6
United probably won’t be able to play him regularly alongside Mattigis de Liguto. Everton misused that lack of pace.
Casemiro: 5
Amorim will need to focus these Sesco funds on new midfielders who meet his demands.
Rasmus Hojlund: 5
Amorim began Cunya as his striker despite his bright show against Bournemouth, but it may have been a clear indicator of his lack of faith in Dane.
Tyler Fredricson: n/a
Introducing the second half of de ligt.
