The road to Wembley has officially begun. After a dramatic semi-final weekend, the line-up for the 2025/26 EFL play-off final is starting to take shape, with ticket demand surging across the country.

In the Championship, Hull City secured a place at the National Stadium with a 2-0 win over Millwall. Southampton, on the other hand, fought through a fierce 120-minute battle against Middlesbrough, winning 2-1 after extra time. With Premier League qualification at stake, this “the richest match in soccer” will be one of the most anticipated in recent years.

The drama continues this week as the remaining divisions advance to the second leg. In League One, Bolton hold a slight advantage over Bradford, while Stockport also hold a 1-0 lead over Stevenage. Meanwhile, in League Two, Salford and Notts County are battling to defend their narrow lead against Grimsby and Chesterfield.

The play-off finals will be held over the bank holiday weekend of May 23-25, with each club handling their own ticket allocation.

These are normally offered to season ticket holders and club members first, but fans who do not meet this criteria, or who are looking for a more memorable experience, can book their seats at Wembley through other official channels. Each final will also be broadcast live on one TV channel for those who wish to watch from home.

Here are the key details fans need to watch the EFL play-off final at Wembley and on TV.

When is the EFL play-off final?

How to get EFL playoff final tickets

Each club is allocated a set number of tickets for their respective EFL play-off finals, which are usually in high demand. Tickets tend to be offered to season ticket holders and club members first before going on sale to the general public.

Therefore, fans are advised to check the latest ticket information on each club’s website. However, you can now book tickets to official matches with Seat Unique’s range of VIP and hospitality packages.

These are sold for Championship, League 1 and League 2 finals and offer ‘premium’ seats in the stands or private boxes. Some packages also include complimentary food and drink options, access to exclusive hospitality areas, and additional benefits such as complimentary matchday programs and host services.

Seat Unique offers a range of VIP and hospitality packages for the Championship, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 play-off finals. These include ‘premium’ seating at Wembley Stadium and a range of complimentary food and drink options.

As such, these Seat Unique packages tend to be more expensive than standard match tickets, with prices currently starting at £499 per person for League 1 and League 2 finals and £799 per person for Championship finals. Prices may change closer to the game and the price of your selected package will increase or decrease depending on availability.

There are also some things to keep in mind, as some packages offer access to neutral areas that may be attended by fans of the opposing team. Wembley Stadium also offers unique hospitality packages with similar benefits, including premium seating and complimentary food and drink.

How to watch the EFL play-off final

For fans who wish to watch the EFL play-off final from home, each match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. The broadcaster will broadcast Championship, League 1 and League 2 finals on one of its main channels and through the Sky Sports app.

Access to each game is included in Sky TV packages such as the £44 Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundles, which also come with over 135 channels and free subscriptions to Netflix, HBO Max and Disney+. The deal will last for 24 months and will also provide access to over 1,000 EFL and Premier League games in the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons.

Existing Sky TV customers can add Sky Sports to their package from £22 per month. It’s worth noting that Sky says prices are “subject to change” during the minimum contract period.

Sky has over 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more, with at least 215 of them live from the top flight, along with F1, darts and golf.
