Miles Lewis-Skelly has turned around the season in spectacular fashion, injecting fresh energy into Arsenal’s pursuit of Premier League and Champions League glory.
Miles Lewis-Skelly is focused on leading Arsenal to a historic double, but has also shut down speculation about his future.
The fearless 19-year-old has breathed new life into the Gunners’ season since being introduced into midfield and admits Mikel Arteta’s side are starting to taste the glory of a Premier League title.
But despite the euphoria of Sunday’s dramatic 1-0 win over West Ham, the Hale End homegrown hero has made it clear now is not the time to get carried away.
He explained: “We feel joy, excitement, fulfillment, everything you can describe. We are excited, but we know the work is not done.

“We have two finals left, Burnley is next and we’ll move on from there. As a player and as a fan myself, it’s easy to think about what could happen, but it’s important to stay in the moment and keep going.”
Lewis-Skelly is no stranger to overcoming adversity. It was the same for Arsenal when Chris Kavanagh choked Callum Wilson’s equalizer in stoppage time at the London Stadium.
Two wins over relegated Burnley and Conference League finalists Crystal Palace will seal the title.
The task at hand looks easy on paper, but it requires mental strength, something Lewis Skelly has already shown in abundance this season.
He added of the period spent in the cold that preceded his dramatic turnaround: “It was tough at first, but for me, I’m proud of having the mental strength.
“Sports is not one path, because there are ups and downs. And it’s how you bounce back from those and who you are in the face of adversity. That’s what defines you.”
“I talked to my family and friends. I just said, ‘I don’t want to hear the noise that’s coming from social media. Let me stay in this moment, let me keep standing in this adversity, and let me come out the other side.'”
“For me, it’s just always preparing and there’s always that feeling of being prepared as a starter because you never know when your time is going to come. Luckily for me it was against Fulham. I feel like I just took advantage of my opportunity and helped the team as much as I could.”
“It feels very natural for me to be there. I’ve been training there a lot, so I felt comfortable when I went in there, and I feel like I earned that opportunity.”
If Lewis-Skelly continues to shine, it’s hard to imagine him leaving Arsenal this summer.
In his view, now is not the time to ask such questions, concluding: “I am focused on the games ahead and on bringing glory back to this club.”
