Lamine Yamal gave Jude Bellingham the last laugh after Barcelona beat Real Madrid 2-0 on Sunday to clinch the La Liga title – and he kept the receipt from their first encounter

Lamine Yamal brutally mocked Jude Bellingham with a three-word message during Barcelona’s La Liga victory celebrations. Barça were crowned champions for the second consecutive year after a comfortable 2-0 victory over arch-rivals Real Madrid on Sunday.
Yamal, 18, never forgot what Bellingham said after the teams’ first meeting at the Bernabéu in October, which Real won 2-1. After the match, the England international wrote on social media: “Speaking is cheap. Hala Madrid Siempre!!”
Bellingham’s accusations came after Yamal accused Bellingham and his teammates of “robbing and complaining.” The comments infuriated Real’s players, who criticized the Barcelona wonderland on the pitch after the October encounter.
At the time, Madrid were the favorites to win, with a five-point lead over Barça. However, Barcelona’s excellent response to that defeat saw them retain their title by winning 23 of their next 25 La Liga matches, while Real were in disarray.

Yamal had the last laugh by writing in English on his Instagram Story, “The story is cheap.” His post was accompanied by seven laughing emojis. The winger said the same thing on the microphone at a bus parade in Barcelona on Monday.
Yamal missed the most recent El Clasico with a hamstring injury and will miss the remainder of the season. However, the winger is expected to be able to represent Spain at the World Cup.
Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres secured the win against Real, and Barça enjoy an unassailable 14-point lead with three games remaining. Hansi Flick’s team will end the season with 100 points if they win all their remaining games.

On Wednesday, Barcelona will face Deportivo Alaves. Next Sunday, they host Real Betis in their final game at the Camp Nou, before finishing the season away to Valencia.
Barça have won five of the six domestic trophies since Flick took over in the summer of 2024, and the German is keen to succeed on the European stage next.
“Right now I want to get 100 points,” Flick declared. “Having said that, the players should be celebrated now and next year we will aim to win the Champions League.”
The former Bayern Munich manager added: “It’s great to win La Liga in El Clasico against Real Madrid. It wasn’t easy, but they’re a great team. I’m very proud of the players.”
