Having been sidelined under manager Ruben Amorim during the previous season, the loanee has enjoyed a rejuvenated season since moving to Camp Nou. The 28-year-old has played a key role under manager Hansi Flick, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists this season.
His performance was praised by United prospect Gabriel, who sent Rashford a candid message. “Awesome,” he wrote in the comments below Rashford’s celebratory Instagram post.
Gabriel has continued his own remarkable development. At just 15 years old, the teenager is already training with the club’s first team and scored 27 goals and assists in 26 appearances for United’s Under-18s, helping them reach the FA Youth Cup final.
He posted on Instagram: “More than a club, it’s a family! 2026 League Champions.” The message was accompanied by an image of Barça’s La Liga title parade.
Rashford has also made it clear that he wants to remain in Catalonia. After the win against Real Madrid, he said: “I don’t know, I’m not a magician.
“If it were me, I’d stay, so let’s see! I came here to win. I want to win as much as I can, and this is another one.”
“This team is going to win a lot in the future, so it’s special to be a part of it.”
The Spanish giants are keen to keep the forward, but only if they can structure a deal in line with current financial constraints. Rashford is bracing himself for a significant drop in income, but his salary is holding him back.
Barcelona are also reportedly willing to sign a further loan deal. Rashford has one year left on his United contract.
