Marcus Rashford has won the league championship for the first time in his career. The attacker was on Barcelona’s scoresheet against Real Madrid at the weekend as the Catalan side won the La Liga title in front of a packed crowd at Camp Nou.

Rashford’s devastating free-kick was the perfect surprise for the English player after an impressive season with the newly crowned La Liga champions. It was a significant turnaround for Rashford, who was desperate to rebuild his career after leaving Manchester United.

While he didn’t exactly set the world on fire during his short loan spell at Aston Villa, his contribution of 28 goals in all competitions definitely helped Rashford get back to his devastating best. The Manchester-born ace has also returned to the England squad, with Rashford expected to be part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the next World Cup.

The big question is…should he be in the starting XI for England’s opening game against Croatia on June 17th? He has been an integral part of Tuchel’s side so far, with many suggesting he should be the starting left-winger in a front three that also includes Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.

What do you think? Should Rashford start in England’s World Cup opener next month? Please vote in the poll below. Let us know what you think in the comments section.

Away from World Cup discussions, question marks remain over Rashford’s future heading into the summer. Barcelona looked set to trigger a buyout option in his contract, but progress on a permanent deal appears to have stalled.

“I don’t know. I’m not a magician, but if I were a magician, I’d stay. So we’ll see… It was really good. We came here to win. We want to win as much as we can. So, one more thing on top of that. Yeah, this team is a great team. They’re going to win a lot in the future. So it’s going to be special to be a part of that. So we’ll see.”

Meanwhile, about his stunning free-kick goal, he said: “No, I didn’t intend to shoot. I didn’t intend to shoot. And… I didn’t see the angle when I put the ball down. I wasn’t confident that it would be a goal, so I thought I was going to cross. But everyone was telling me to shoot, so I got a little fired up. It was a good goal, so I’m glad I was able to shoot in the end.”
