Chelsea are looking for a new permanent manager and Jose Mourinho has been named as the best man to lead the Blues, making it his third time in charge.
Chelsea have been urged by former player Joe Cole to bring back Jose Mourinho for a third time as manager, who believes it is the “best move they can make”.
The Blues have sacked manager Liam Rosenior after just a few months in office and are looking for a new manager. He is the latest person to be sacked or moved by the Stamford Bridge bosses, who have seen the likes of Enzo Maresca, Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel leave.
This will leave them scouring the market for a new manager, with Mourinho the likely man to move on in the summer. He has great pedigree in west London, having coached an unbeaten season with Benfica and won three Premier League titles.
He remains the club’s most successful manager, and Cole insisted that Real Madrid’s interest in him confirms his ability and has helped him lead positive change at the troubled club.
He told The Sun newspaper: “The best move the club could make at the moment, and the pragmatic move, is to go to Jose Mourinho. Say this is what we can do and let him take charge of the club. Rebuild the club for me, we’re leaving, and let him get us back on track.”

“Give him a long contract and tell the players and the fans to just move on. Tell the fans, we gave you what you wanted. Jose is responsible for bringing in the players. Jose is responsible for everything.”
“So the fans know where they stand, the players know where they stand as a group, and we’ll leave it at that. It will take a few years. But I’m sure that in three years Chelsea will be in a much healthier position than they are now. Everyone thinks he’s finished, but there’s a reason why Real Madrid are eyeing him.”
Los Blancos president Florentino Pérez is thought to be considering Mourinho as a likely candidate to replace Alvaro Arbeloa this summer. The Special One has not regularly competed for league titles since leaving Chelsea in 2016, having managed the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Roma.
However, Mourinho remains a highly respected figure and will be able to command the dressing room. Although Chelsea continue to invest in their team year after year, they have yet to reach the top of the Premier League and many believe that a strong personality in the dugout could help the club’s ambitions.
