Despite his extremely difficult first season in the UK, Amorim is sure to emulate United’s biggest manager and stay for 20 years.
“I want to stay at 20 years old. That’s my goal and I really believe it. Something will happen. After a while, I’ll be lucky,” he said.
“I have had a lot of luck in my career as a manager, and my idea is to stay for many years.
“I know the outcome dictates that. I used all the credits last season and am ready to start anew.”
United’s ti-sick offense proved to be a major factor in last season’s inconsistency, scoring just 44 goals in the league.
It’s no surprise that Amorim and United made major changes to their offense for the season. There are plans to adjust further.
Amorim did not deny that he could re-activate this summer, but he made it clear he was already happy with the goalkeepers at Tom Heaton, Altai Bayindeal and Andre Onana’s club.
“We’re always looking to improve our team, and we want to have some characteristics. But it depends on the market and on the sales,” Amorim added.
“You can see the goalkeeper. Tom (Heaton) is lean. Altay (Bayindir) really did well.
United will begin their Premier League season on Sunday, August 17th, hosting Arsenal at Old Trafford.
