Anthony Gordon has been heavily linked with a move from Newcastle this summer, with Bayern Munich one of the frontrunners for his signature, with Arsenal also interested.
Bayern Munich have begun talks with Newcastle to sign Anthony Gordon in a £75m deal. Newcastle are ready to listen to offers for Gordon, 25, who wants to explore his options this summer.
The England international hopes to decide on his future before the World Cup starts in June. Arsenal had been interested in Gordon for a long time, but Bayern made the first move.
Sky Sports reports that Newcastle are in talks with the German giants, who were crowned Bundesliga champions last month and are aiming for a double domestic title. Bayern have a good relationship with those in charge at St James’ Park and it is said that negotiations could go smoothly.
He added that two of Gordon’s team-mates, Sandro Tonali and Tino Libramento, could also leave Newcastle during the summer transfer window. Midfielder Tonali has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Other reports suggest that Newcastle value Gordon at £75m, while Bayern are considering a transfer fee of £55m. The Magpies rejected an approach from Liverpool in 2024 and subsequently signed the winger to a long-term contract until 2030.
But manager Eddie Howe has already made it clear that he only wants players who are committed to Newcastle. “I’m always discussing things with the players,” Howe said after Newcastle’s 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth in April.
“I don’t necessarily discuss transfer speculation unless I feel it’s at a point where I have to do it,” Howe said. “After talking to Sandro, the biggest thing I’m looking for is a commitment to training, because if you see that, the players will perform.

“That would be the same with Anthony and all the players. One thing I won’t do is I won’t play players that I don’t feel like they’re giving 100 per cent effort for the club and the future. I’m not talking about Anthony there, I’m talking across the board.”
Gordon has had an indifferent season in the Premier League, with Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé the only two players to have scored more than his 10 goals in this season’s Champions League. This was despite Newcastle losing 8-3 on aggregate to Barcelona in the round of 16.
The former Everton star has established himself as a favorite under manager Thomas Tuchel and is expected to feature at the World Cup. He could also start when the Three Lions open against Croatia on June 17th.
