Sir Jim Radcliffe’s right-hand man Sir Dave Brailsford has left Manchester United.
Brailsford reduced his involvement at United last year but remained on the club’s board. However, it has now been confirmed that he has left the club permanently.
He will remain close to Ratcliffe and continue in his role as Ineos’ sporting director. Ratcliffe bought a minority stake in the club and took over football operations in December 2023, before signing Brailsford to United.
Mr Brailsfield, 62, was heavily involved in establishing the new management team behind the scenes at Old Trafford, including the hiring of chief executive Omar Berrada.
Brailsford spent a year as United’s head of football operations despite having no previous football experience. He did not play well in that position last season, as United finished 15th in the Premier League, lost to Tottenham in the Europa League final, and missed out on European football altogether.
