Jubilant Arsenal stars insist they can win the Champions League trophy. Riccardo Calafioli claims Arsenal are now “a team to be feared” across Europe after being unbeaten in this season’s Champions League.

Gunners forward Leandro Trossard also believes Arsenal can become European champions for the first time in Budapest on May 30. Asked if Arsenal were now feared across Europe, Calafiori replied: “Yes, yes. Of course. I’m very proud of this team.”

“That’s huge… We did it without losing. We haven’t won a trophy yet, but it’s a huge way and we hope to do the same in the final.”

Trossard added: “This is one game, so we have to give it our all. Everyone will be full of energy and ready. In one game, anything can happen.”

“I think we’re getting more experience as well. Every year you get more experience and you know how to deal with situations. We’ve also got a bigger team and the quality within the team is very high and everyone is contributing.”

Arsenal have reached the Champions League final for the first time in 20 years and have had to make tentative plans for a victory parade in Islington on May 31st.

Mikel Arteta’s men, dreaming of lifting the trophy, were scheduled to take an early morning flight back to London, where an open-top bus parade would take them from the stadium to Islington Town Hall.

It also means Arsenal’s England stars such as Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke will arrive late for their World Cup duties. The England squad is due to leave for a preliminary training camp in Florida on June 1, but Arsenal’s squad will be able to report late, at least four days later.

Other English stars also have a gap between the end of the Premier League season and their commitments, meaning Arsenal’s players will not be able to get proper rest until the World Cup.

Arsenal will receive an allocation of 16,824 tickets to the 67,000-capacity Ferenc Puskas Stadium, but other corporate packages will also be available.

Fans are also facing disruption to their travels to Budapest, with high flight and hotel costs. Even before the semi-finals ended, some one-way tickets were already costing more than £3,000. Gunners supporters are making a huge effort to reach the finals by plane, train and hire car.

Arsenal midfielder Rice said after the match: “Come on, we’re ready. Let’s see what happens. Budapest, we want all the Arsenal fans to be there. 200,000 people, come out! We’re going to need all your support, all your energy, so let’s do it and let’s make it really special.”
