Morgan Gibbs White wanted Tottenham earlier this summer, but £60 million Spurs bid from Nottingham Forest, who slammed the London Club for illegal approach
Morgan Gibbs White has significantly signed a new three-year contract with Nottingham Forest after being eligible for a £60 million bid from Tottenham Hotspur.
When the Spurs bid on Gibbswhite earlier this month, they thought the forest reacted wildly and caused a release clause solely to consider legal action against what was deemed an illegal approach.
Forest felt that Spurs had not been given permission to speak to the English midfielder and that there had been a violation of the confidentiality regarding the terms of his contract.
The Spurs and new boss Thomas Frank were still hoping to continue signing, but on Saturday evening, fans were amazed by the announcement that Gibbs White had signed a new three-year deal.

The club said: “Gibbswhite, a fan favorite in Forest’s Premier League and City Grounds, highlights his long-term commitment to the club by agreeing to fresh terms.
“This deal highlights the ambitions of forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, who continues to shape the club’s future with their vision to sustain European success and Premier League progress.”
Gibbs White said:
“I believe in what we are building here, and with Mr. Marinakis’ support and the enormous ambitions he has, I want to be part of creating something special. I’m excited about what’s coming.”
Forest owner Marinakis, who posed with Gibbs White in a photo celebrating his new contract, said: “Morgan is a special player not only in terms of talent, but also in terms of character and mentality. He represents everything we want this football club.
“There was a lot of interest from various clubs, but we decided to build a future with Morgan, at the heart of that. We not only compete for our fans, but we promised to grow stronger and stronger each season. Today is another big step in that journey.”
