Casemiro has declared there is “no” chance of him staying at Manchester United. Back in January, the Brazilian midfielder confirmed he would be leaving Old Trafford at the end of this season.
Since then, he has established himself as a valuable asset under Michael Carrick, scoring some important goals and proving to be the ideal midfield partner for the resurgent Coby Mainu. United supporters have been chanting “One more year, one more Casemiro” throughout the season, a gesture that clearly touched the former Real Madrid star’s wife at the end of the win over Liverpool.
Matheus Cunha also recently offered some supporters a glimmer of hope that Casemiro might stay, hinting at his team-mate’s desire to stay, saying: “You never know.” Despite this, the midfield stalwart has privately admitted that he will leave Old Trafford with his head held high as the season draws to a close.

Asked about his chances of staying at the club in an interview with ESPN, Casemiro replied: “I don’t think there’s a chance. There’s no chance. Mainly because of what I said. You know what? Get out the big door.”
“I think it’s been a beautiful and wonderful four years and I’m forever grateful not only to the club but also to the fans. But I think I have to leave on good terms and I have to come out on top.”
“I will always be a United fan here in England and I have to thank the fans for all their love.”
This will be a particularly big blow for Cunha, who recently said, “I played with him in the national team and I know how important he is. He’s a great guy. And yes, it’s a privilege to have this guy in the dressing room.”
“We don’t know what his contract will be in the end. And of course we all expect a little more. Of course we know it’s more difficult than we talked about, but ultimately we don’t know.”

Carrick also urged United fans to soak up as much of Casemiro’s performances and commitment as they can between now and the end of the season. United’s interim manager said: “Case had an influence within the group.
“He has a huge amount of experience, is a great player and has achieved so much in the game. I have to say that he has given his all since I came here.
“Maybe the circumstances helped. He knew exactly what the situation was, he had nothing to hide and he threw himself squarely into it. That’s football, you know, this is football. Over the years there are players who come and leave this football club, players come and go and you have to evolve and you go with it.”
“That’s the world we’re in, but he definitely gave it his all. I think it’s great that he has that connection with his supporters and it comes from both directions because I know he’s an emotional guy and it means a lot to him.”
