Liverpool reportedly contacted Real Madrid star Rodrigo in the aftermath of Alexander Isaac’s failed transfer bid. Newcastle received more than £100 million bids for the hopeful striker.
This is despite Isaac’s attempt to force his move to Anfield by refusing to reject a new contract in the Northeast and refusing to train at his former club Real Sociedad. He is expected to join other teams when they return from their tour in the Far East.
However, Liverpool is looking to bolster its attack options after Louis Diaz’s £65.5 million departure for Bayern Munich. Darwin Nunes and Harvey Elliott are also expected to leave Merseyside this summer for more opportunities elsewhere.
ESPN Brazil claims that Liverpool has contacted Rodrigo’s agents prior to their formal bid as a result of recent developments. The 24-year-old, also linked to Arsenal, is said to have agreed to personal terms with the Premier League champions.
The Brazilian lost favour with Real Madrid’s Xabi Alonso, who prioritizes Killian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr., and forced Rodrigo to consider moving to England. He is valued at around £70 million.

However, after Eddie Howe confirms Isaac’s bid, Liverpool realizes that Florian Wiltz, Hugo Ekitique, Milos Kerkez and Jeremy Fripon have the money to spend, with Liverpool still having the money to spend.
“I really don’t know what’s going to happen next,” Howe said on a tour of Asia. “From our perspective, we still support Alex in every respect. My wish is that he will be wearing a Newcastle shirt again.
“It’s difficult because you don’t know what’s going to happen. There may be all sorts of stories and hypothetical situations, but we’re dealing with reality.
“The reality is that we had our first bid from Liverpool yesterday. From this point on, let’s see what happens. We’re not going to try and predict that.”
However, Rodrigo may be a more stylist-like fit than Isaac, considering Liverpool has already paid £79 million to Ekitique striker.
He was able to enter the slot to the left. His preferred role worked on the opposite side of Madrid, filling the gap Diaz left behind.
Ekitike can be played mainly through the middle, in contrast to playing ISAK like Moted, with Wirtz and Mohamed Salah supporting them with four powerful attacks.
