Darwin Nunes was not on the Liverpool team, so he was defeated by AC Milan in Hong Kong, and Arne Slot revealed he didn’t want to put the Reds striker in danger
Arne Slot revealed he doesn’t want to put Darwinnes in danger in a clash with Liverpool’s AC Milan. The striker has been removed from a friendly Reds clash in Hong Kong and continues to recover from his injuries.
Uruguay International, which has been linked to a move away from the club this summer, could only be monitored by the bystanders on Saturday. The former Benfica star was deemed unavailable alongside Louis Diaz, who is linked to a possible move towards Bayern Munich.
However, while Slot admitted Diaz’s lack of involvement as a result of speculation about the transfer, the Dutch wanted to emphasize that Darwin was already impressed this summer. The Liverpool boss focused on making sure Darwin is ready to enter Season Match Fit, not on the prospect of a transfer.
The situation with the striker was likened to that of Wataru End. Slot expects to be able to introduce both players to Yokahoma FM in Japan on Wednesday.
“In Darwin’s situation, he was very well trained and had already played some good games for us this preseason,” Slot said. “He was injured and we didn’t want to take a risk.

“It was the same with WATA (ENDO). We were trained with us, but we didn’t want to take risks with him either. It’s part of the preseason and the boys need to reach match fitness.
“In this situation, we thought it would be clever for Darwin and Ita to sit it today, but I think they’ll be with us when they’re in Japan for the next game.”
Things are somewhat different for Diaz, who has decided that Liverpool will not play at this point. “In Lucho’s situation, it was (linked to his future),” Slot admitted.
“There have been a lot of rumors around it lately and I can’t get into it. But he’s really trained with us and we’ve decided not to play him yet for now.
Slot added: “Yes (I spoke to Diaz), but I’m used to talking to most players regularly. Like I said, Lucho trains really well, but he’s decided he’s not playing in the game at this point.
