Casemiro’s farewell tour is coming to a close on a high note – and Benjamin Sesco admits the Brazilian legend is someone the whole team should learn from before he departs
Benjamin Sesco believes his Manchester United team-mates would be “foolish” if they did not learn from Casemiro before leaving Old Trafford. Casemiro has found form in his final weeks at United and will head to pastures new this summer.
The Brazilian has scored three goals in his last three home league games, including one in United’s crucial 2-1 win over Brentford on Monday night.
The midfielder’s form has helped United move up to third in the table and on the brink of Champions League qualification.
Casemiro has been praised for his work ethic and attitude. The former Real Madrid superstar’s wealth of experience has influenced Coby Mainu and those around him.

And Sesco urged his colleagues to make the most of Casemiro while they still have the chance. “He’s a working machine, he’s very experienced and his play on the pitch is unbelievable,” Sesco said.
“We need a player like this. Unfortunately he’s leaving, but yeah, we have to learn. So I’m happy to be able to manage him until the last moment of the game and we’re going to use him.”
“Of course, how you look at him is very important (to learn from his example). And I think when it comes to work rate and things like that, if you look at him and don’t try to be like him, you can be stupid.”
“Again, I think everyone is happy that he’s here. Unfortunately, he’s leaving (at the end of the season), but yeah, it’s important to keep him going like this.”
Caretaker manager Michael Carrick appears to be in pole position to secure a permanent transfer this summer.
Sesco has admitted he wants Carrick to be appointed on a full-time basis and believes United can achieve anything with him. The Slovenian striker added: “Of course (he) wants to stay. He’s a great coach, I’ve said it many times.”
“He’s brought a different energy. The way we’ve been in training is also unbelievable and of course we want to have him here. The fans gave us the sound and everything before the game. You know, we were starting to fly.”
“That’s why we created so many chances, which was great, and I hope we have more moments like this in the future.”
