Mohamed Salah has up to four games remaining as a Liverpool player before leaving, but the Egyptian forward could already have played his last game for the club
Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool career could already be over after suffering an injury against Crystal Palace. The Egyptian forward was sent off during the Reds’ win on Saturday.
As things stand, Salah has a maximum of four games left for Liverpool. The Reds face Manchester United next week, with games against Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford all coming up.
However, he is expected to miss the remainder of the campaign due to injury, and could miss all of it. Egypt national team coach Ibrahim Hassan confirmed that Salah has injured his hamstring and will be off the pitch for about four weeks. “He has injured his hamstring and will need four weeks of treatment,” Hassan told Reuters.
This means Salah has already played his final game for Liverpool, taking his final total to 440 appearances and 257 goals. After the final whistle, Liverpool manager Arne Slott said on Match of the Day: “We won again, but we got injured again. This is the story of our season.”

“It’s too early to say, but we all know about Mo and how difficult it is for him to leave the pitch. Mo leaving the pitch shows something, but we’ll have to wait and see how bad it is.”
The Dutchman added in a press conference: “I don’t know… That’s the best answer I can give. If I say there might be a chance, that’s probably going to make the headlines.”
“We have no idea, but what we do know is that the season ends in four weeks. There aren’t that many games to play, so we have to wait and see how his injury goes and whether he can return to play.”
“What I know about Mo is that he has taken care of his body for years so he can minimize the time he needs to recover from injuries. Let’s hope he’s in the best shape possible. But after a win, he got hurt again, and that sums up our season.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard also gave his verdict on Salah’s injury, suggesting it could be worse than initially thought. He said: “It would be sad, but I hope it’s not (his last game).”
“His current condition is probably worse than Mo thinks, but we won’t know the true extent until he is properly evaluated by his medical team and undergoes an MRI scan.
“But it would be very sad if he played his last game, not just for Mo but for everyone associated with Liverpool Football Club, because he is a legend and everyone would like to see him get the sending off he deserves.”
