Gary Neville was accosted and verbally abused as he and his wife stood together on the street over the weekend, and footage of the altercation went viral online.
Gary Neville feared the dog would attack him when he encountered it on the street over the weekend and received severe verbal abuse. This week, video footage surfaced on social media of the Sky Sports pundit walking alongside his wife Emma.
The man filming the video can be heard saying: “Gary Neville? I-I-I-I-I-*****. That’s you, I’m obsessed with *****. Listen, I’m filming because you’re obsessed with *****.”
“Things you don’t want to know about a working-class guy. Even your own fans are against you because you’re such an asshole.”

And now Neville has spoken out about this horrific incident in Overlap. He said: “Roy[Keene]and I went to see James, it was a great concert. So we walked to the concert and this guy just started going.”
When Ian Wright interjected to add that Neville was with his wife, the 51-year-old added: “That feels wrong to me. To be fair, this has never happened before. But when I’m with my wife…”
He continued, “You know what I should have done? What mistake did I make? I should have filmed him because no one would know who he was.”
“You know what I’m saying? And I think if I had filmed him, he might not have released it. I don’t know.”

Neville also claimed that the man had a “very aggressive” dog with him and that he thought it could be released at any time. He continued: ‘I think he had a dog on a leash that was quite aggressive.
“And I thought he was going to let the dog go. I thought that was one of the places he was going to go that way.”
Neville’s sister Tracy recently criticized the video, which went viral online. she wrote: “I can assure you that this situation is absolutely terrifying and definitely not fun.”
Elsewhere, former footballer John Hartson also delivered his verdict on the case. He added, “What does this fool think he is accomplishing?
“Gary has been abusing him in public with one of his family members. If you want to abuse someone, do it in front of a TV screen, not in public. Not very wise!”
Meanwhile, Jill Scott responded to Neville in the Overwrap, explaining: “But for someone to come up to you in the street and start calling you names, I just think…people can have disagreements, but I think that was way out of line.”
