Bayern Munich goalkeeper Sven Ulreich shares the devastating news of the death of his six-year-old son. The 36-year-old announced on social media that his son Leo had tragically passed away after a serious illness.
The German issued a statement saying, “It is deeply saddened to announce today that my son, Len, has passed away after a long, serious illness.” But the decision to create this mass is extremely difficult for us. With my daughter, we are now trying to find a way back to life in stages. We would like to thank our family, friends and FC Bayern Munich for their discretion and great support over the past few months. That means a lot to us.
“We ask the public and media representatives to be considerate and respect our privacy. We ask that you refrain from further enquiries and statements. Lisa and Sven.”
Ren was welcomed by the world in 2018 during Ulrich’s first tenure in Bayern Munich. The shotstopper moved to Hamburg in 2020, but returned to Bayern just a year later.
Ulreich, who played 103 times for Bayern, renewed his contract with the club just three days ago. Sports Director Max Ebal said:
Among the two spells with the German champions, he won the Bundesliga title nine times, secured the DFB Cup three times, and won the DFL Super Cup six times. Additionally, he lifted the Champions League trophies and the UEFA Super Cup.
