Liverpool has rejected a £58.5 million transfer bid from Bayern Munich amid Louis Diaz’s desire to leave Anfield, but the Bundesliga champion has been warned about signing him
Former Liverpool and Bayern Munich star Dietir Hamann urged his old club to abandon the pursuit of Louis Diaz. The Colombian is understood to say they want to leave the club to Liverpool and are accepting to join Bayern.
But that didn’t stop him from rejecting a £58.5 million bid from the German giant earlier this week. Diaz, 28, has now been another two years on a contract and remains a key player for Arne Slot, who made 50 appearances last season.
Despite Barcelona’s large link to the left winger, Bayern made the first move by submitting an offer. The Bundesliga champions hope to sign at least one forward this summer. During the horrifying incident at the Club World Cup, Leroy Sane set out for Galatasarei at the expiration of his contract, Jamal Musiala suffering a broken leg and dislocated ankle.
But according to Haman, they should avoid Diaz. Speaking to Sky Germany, the former Liverpool and Bayern midfielder expressed concern about signing the former Portostar, who moved to Anfield for £37.5 million in January 2022.
Haman asked: “Now I’m taking with me Lewis Diaz, a 28-year-old South American who played 50 games per season for four or five years and brought home a long flight. That’s another problem, but at the end of my contract, I’m 32 so I have zero sales value.

Instead of Dias, Hamann recommends Bayern sign Brighton’s right winger bra Jungluda. The 21-year-old joined from Mainz last summer and was impressed by both the Bundesliga and the recent German European Championships.
“I’m going to get Gruda,” declared Haman, who passed through Bayern’s academy before making over 100 appearances at the senior level. “For me, he is one of Germany’s best players. He was injured for a long time, but he played very well towards the end of the season. Gruda can play outside and in the middle. He will be my first choice.”
Diaz is open to join Bayern, but his agent reportedly met Deco, Barcelona’s sports director. In an interview with Catalonian radio station RAC 1, Deco confirmed his interest in both Liverpool Forward and Marcus Rashford.

“We like Lewis, we like Rashford, we like the other players,” Deco said. “It’s complicated to talk about players who have signed with respect and signed with other clubs. When you go to the market, there are names that can improve your team.”
Barka manager Hansi Frick commented towards the end of last season. “I don’t want to talk about players that aren’t on my team, but of course, Lewis Diaz and Marcus Rashford are great players, and I like them.
