Wrexham is currently on tours around Australia and New Zealand, preparing for a championship life, but is set to avoid striker Jack Marriott who can’t even go home after undergoing surgery.

Wrexham striker Jack Marriott managed to miss the start of the championship season after surgery to remove his appendix. The Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mack owned side are currently on tours in Australia and New Zealand, facing Melbourne’s victory and Sydney with best friends before Saturday’s clash with Wellingham Phoenix.

The 30-year-old Marriott appeared in both Australian matches, but missed a match against Wellingham. That’s because the former Derby and Peterborough stars were forced to undergo surgery after suffering from appendicitis.

The NHS recommends rest times at least two weeks after surgery, and athletes recommend longer. Therefore, Marriott will not be able to return home until it recovers.

Wrexham will spend a month starting his life as a Championship club, and will have a difficult trip to Southampton on Saturday, August 9th. Marriott’s involvement is seriously suspected, like midfielder Ollie Rathbone, who suffered an ankle injury in a 2-1 defeat in Sydney.

“Jack is in the hospital. He has his appendix this morning, so we were here so it’s a bit short in terms of the striker division,” Phil Parkinson said ahead of the Wellingham match.

“You’re hoping for a few injuries over the course of a trip like this, but I’m clearly disappointed with these two. Ollie in particular, it won’t be long before he’ll come back once Jack completes the surgery.”

Wrexham lends club legend Paul Marin to Wigan and is able to immerse himself in the transfer market for his new striker. With 110 goals in 170 appearances, Marin lost his favor under Parkinson in the second half of last season.

fellow strikers Stephen Fletcher and Sam Dalby also left the racetrack. Parkinson’s options now include signatures from Ryan Hardy, Jay Rodriguez and Sam Smith.

On Friday, Wrexham announced the signing of left-back cacarce from Italian side Emporio on a deal that could surpass the £1 million he paid Smith in January. New Zealand International joins Hardy and goalkeeper Danny Ward during the Welsh Club’s summer signature.
