Crystal Palace Captain Mark Guech will enter the final year of his contract and will be sold this summer when Liverpool or Tottenham pays the centre-back asking price
Crystal Palace knows that the summer transfer window represents Mark Guech’s last chance to win cash. And their stance is in Liverpool’s hands.
Guehi entered the final 12 months of his current contract with the palace and made it clear he would not sign a new one. The English defender has been attracting attention from the rival Premier League side for a while and was able to eventually leave the South London Club.
Newcastle pushed hard to sign Guehi last summer, but eventually retreated due to reluctance to pay the palace’s £70 million asking price. His contract expired less than a year later, so the palace reduced its ratings, but it only lost about £50 million.
Liverpool is not the sole stakeholder and reports that Miller Football revealed Tottenham is on the run on Monday. The Spurs bid back to £700 million for centre-back in January, but were rejected by the palace and are ready to return this summer.

Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven’s First-Choice pairing struggled with injuries last season, and Romero has been linked to Atletico Madrid this summer.
The Spurs are likely to respond to the palace’s £50 million valuation, and Liverpool is about to receive nearly £300 million in spending after Hugo Echicchike’s £79 million signature from Aintrak’s Frankfurt.
now. David Ornstein of Athletic Report provides an update on the situation from a palace perspective, suggesting that it is ready for “cashing”.
He told Sky Sports News: “I know Liverpool is keen on him at a reasonable price. Tottenham, who bids on him today in January, suggests he’s still unforgettable, but he’s still in the mix.
“I think the palace is trying to win cash rather than face losing him for free next summer, but he has the strength of his hands. He is very pleased with Crystal Palace with the sound. I don’t think he’ll be afraid to go to the end of his deal. It seems a new contract is on the agenda.
“And with full respect for Crystal Palace, I think Mark Guech will play at the top of Champions League football.
Liverpool has been on the centre-back market after selling Jarrell Quansus to Bayer Leverkusen for £35 million this summer. Meanwhile, there are questions surrounding the future of Ibrahima Konate, who is strongly linked to Real Madrid after rejecting his offer for a new contract with Liverpool.
