Liverpool faced Merseyside rivals Everton for the first time at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday, with goalkeeper Giorgi Mamadashvili off the pitch, compounding the injury headache caused by Arne Slott.
Liverpool’s injury troubles have increased after goalkeeper Giorgi Mamadashvili was stretchered off during the Merseyside derby.
The Georgian was injured when Beto scored Everton’s equalizer. He was taken off the pitch by medical staff and replaced by Freddie Woodman.
Woodman, 29, joined Liverpool on a free transfer from Preston North End this summer. He has made just one appearance for Arne Slott’s side so far, in October’s 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace.
The Reds are already struggling with a number of issues, and Slott will be hoping Mamadashvili’s problems aren’t as bad. Fellow goalkeeper Alisson Becker has already been restricted to the sideline.

Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Wataru Endo are also out with long-term injuries. They have been joined by forward Hugo Ekitike, who is expected to miss the rest of the season and this summer’s World Cup with an Achilles injury.
Ahead of the game against Everton, Slott gave an update on the striker, saying: “He hasn’t had any surgery yet.
“It’s shocking to see him come to his new club and make such an impact so soon. Playing against his former club in the Champions League quarter-finals will mean a lot for him in the summer.
“The first thing that strikes me is that he was out for such a long time and missed out on so many special moments. He won’t be the first or last player to go through something like this at the start of his career and there are many examples of players who have come back stronger and 100 per cent he will be one of them.

“Maybe this injury will make me even stronger and ready to play at a higher level.”
Liverpool thought they had managed to contain some of the storm clouds after Mohamed Salah’s goal took them ahead against Everton on Sunday.
However, Everton equalized shortly after the start of the second period, with Mamadashvili injured. Virgil van Dijk scored in stoppage time to seal a big win for Liverpool as they look to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
They are scheduled to return to action next Saturday when they welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield. Meanwhile, Everton also had to contend with injuries. Beto was sent off from the pitch after a violent clash of heads.
Defender Jarrad Branthwaite also crashed into a billboard in the closing stages and was carried away on a stretcher.
