Leicester City lost 1-0 to Portsmouth on Saturday, leaving the Foxes on the brink of relegation to League One.

Harry Winks had a heated exchange with Leicester City fans

Leicester City star Harry Winks was spotted in an angry confrontation with a fan after the Foxes moved one step closer to relegation from the Championship with their latest defeat.

Leicester faced Portsmouth in an early kick-off at Fratton Park on Saturday as the former Premier League side looked to boost their chances of being relegated to League One.

However, Leicester lost 1-0 to Pompey, with substitute Ivane Boite scoring the only goal of the game in the 63rd minute, handing the Foxes their 18th defeat in the Championship this season.

Video footage was published on social media showing Winks boarding Leicester’s team bus and heading home after the final whistle.

Footage showed Mr Winks getting on the bus, getting into an angry confrontation with supporters, and eventually climbing the stairs of the car.

Winks left Tottenham Hotspur to join Leicester in the summer of 2023, with a deal reported to be worth around £10 million.

The 30-year-old has since made 106 appearances for the Foxes during his time at the King Power Stadium, including 31 in the Championship this season after the club were relegated from the Premier League last season.

Leicester have three games left in their bid to avoid relegation for the second successive season, but face the difficult task of preventing a fall to League One.

The Foxes sit 23rd in the Championship table and next face Hull City on Tuesday night, but failure to secure anything but a win against the King Power will ensure relegation to League One.

Leicester manager Gary Rowett was appointed by the club on an interim basis until the end of the season in February.

Asked after the loss to Portsmouth if he still had faith the club could avoid relegation, Rowett told reporters: “I can say we have faith.”

“We need to show that with our performances and results. I said to the players that we have to start hoping for a little bit of wealth from somewhere else. But as a manager I don’t like saying that. I’m not interested in what other teams are doing. I’m interested in what we’re doing.”

“We have to be professional. As players, even if there were three games left and we were already relegated, you would still want to win all three games. I don’t care. What matters is pride and the standards for yourself.”

“For me, we go on Tuesday (against Hull) so we have to do everything we can to win the game. It’s easy to say. We’ve had a couple of chances to show that extra push so far but we haven’t found it yet. We’ll have to see if we can find it on Tuesday.”
