Moises Caicedo has been a key player for Chelsea since joining from Brighton, and the midfielder has made a decision on his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
Moises Caicedo is set to commit his future to Chelsea after signing a new contract with the club. The 24-year-old Ecuadorian international has been a key player for the Blues since his £100m move from Brighton in 2023.
He made 140 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 8 goals. Caicedo’s contract at Stamford Bridge runs until 2031, but Chelsea want to sign him on new terms, which Caicedo also wants.
According to the Telegraph, Caicedo’s new contract extends his existing contract and also includes a pay rise. Speaking about his future last month, he said: “Right now I’m concentrating on my club. I have a contract with the club and I want to do well. If God wants it, I want to be a legend.”
News of Caicedo’s contract extension will be welcome to Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior, who praises the former Brighton player as one of the best midfielders in world football.

“For me, Moises is one of the best defensive midfield players, if not the best defensive midfield player in world football,” he said. “That’s because of his intelligence, physicality, technical quality and understanding of the game.”
The news will also be a big boost given that many players are already questioning their futures. Enzo Fernandes was recently suspended for talking about a possible move to Real Madrid, and Marc Cucurella also criticized the club’s owner’s approach in the transfer market.
It has also been reported that the Blues are looking to sign Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho less than a year after signing him from Manchester United for £40m.
Rosenior insisted there could be a big move at Stamford Bridge sooner or later when it comes to contracts. “In the coming weeks, things will happen around this football club that will speak louder than words. And we will see what happens in the coming weeks in terms of the dedication of our players to this project.”
While Chelsea look to sign Caicedo to a new deal at Stamford Bridge, the west London side face a crucial few weeks in order to secure Champions League qualification. Chelsea currently sit sixth in the Premier League, four points off the final Champions League place with six games left in the season.
