Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon has been linked with both Arsenal and Bayern Munich ahead of the summer transfer window, with Liverpool close to signing him in 2024
Anthony Gordon is open to leaving Newcastle this summer as Arsenal consider a huge transfer fee. Gordon, 25, has been linked with the Gunners in recent months, with German giants Bayern Munich also emerging as potential suitors.
Earlier this week it was reported that Bayern were preparing a bid of £55m. But Newcastle will demand even more from the England international as they hope to settle his future before the World Cup starts in June.
The Telegraph reports that although Gordon has not informed Newcastle of his desire to leave, sources close to the club say he may seek a move during the summer transfer window. Arsenal are said to have a long-standing interest in the winger, with talks taking place in recruitment meetings.
Meanwhile, Liverpool could regain interest after nearly signing Gordon for 2024, just before he penned a new long-term deal with Newcastle. He added that despite coming from Everton’s academy, he would jump at the chance to join his local rivals.

The St James’ Park hierarchy are prepared to make offers when the window opens, and not just for Gordon. Key players such as Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall have all been linked with other Premier League clubs.
Newcastle lost star striker Alexander Isak to Liverpool last summer and paid the price after a long transfer saga. Eddie Howe’s side have fallen to 14th place with six games in hand and are unlikely to qualify for Europe as they have the past three seasons.
Gordon continued to shine for the Magpies, scoring 17 goals and providing five assists. Ten of those goals came in the Champions League, with the former Everton star proving himself in Europe’s elite competition.

Arsenal signed three attackers last summer, but could be looking to retool their frontline again this year. Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have all been linked with potential departures from the Emirates to free up funds for new players.
However, Gordon is not the only forward on Arsenal’s shortlist. The Gunners could be another big spender with rumors of signings Paris Saint-Germain star Kviča Kvaratschelia and Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez.
A lot could depend on the result of this season, with Liverpool at risk of missing out on Champions League qualification. Meanwhile, Arsenal and Bayern could face off in this year’s final to win the domestic league title.
