Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior have reportedly had a heated exchange following Real Madrid’s Champions League exit to Bayern Munich, which resulted in Alvaro Arbeloa’s side being eliminated at the quarter-final stage. It was a very heated encounter at the Allianz Arena, and with the scores tied at 4-4 on aggregate, Eduardo Camavinga received his marching orders.

The France international received a second yellow card and was sent off in the 86th minute for wasting time with a free kick, but Bayern then scored twice to avoid extra time. Cameras captured a heated confrontation between Bellingham and Vinicius, with the Brazilian appearing to tell the England player to “shut up”.

The flashpoint occurred after Vinicius held the ball and charged towards goal, forcing Bellingham to demand a pass and rush into the penalty area. A poor touch forced Dayot Upamecano to close the angle and block the pass, leaving Bellingham visibly shaken.

Vinicius was caught on camera angrily responding to Bellingham, telling him: “What do you want? What do you want? Shut up.” And he yelled “fuck you” in Portuguese.

After the final whistle, several Madrid players expressed their displeasure with Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic, who was surrounded and verbally abused. Antonio Rudiger and Vinicius were the most vocal in leading the protests and denouncing the authorities, while Alda Güler was fired for her dissent. Even Dani Carvajal, who was named as an unused substitute, could be heard yelling at Vincic: “It’s your fault.” Bellingham then made his feelings clear in the mixed zone, branding the red card a “joke”.

Madrid coach Arbeloa also took aim at the referee, accusing him of “ruining the game”. “Of course you can’t send off a player for something like that,” he told waiting reporters. “The referee didn’t even know he had a card, so it ruined what was a very exciting and competitive match, a real fight, and that’s how it ended.

“I think it all ended with a red card. It’s really unbelievable to send a player off for this act and you can’t get sent off for this in a game like this. We’re really, really upset, angry and disappointed. And I think all of this is a bit unfair.”
