Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has urged the club’s owners to sit down and reach an agreement with fans following protests over plans to increase ticket prices. “But my opinion is that our fans are the club. They always have been, before and after my time. It’s important that these issues are resolved, because it’s not in anyone’s interest.”
Liverpool supporters’ union Spirit of Shankly is planning further protests in the coming weeks, with the Reds hosting Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-final second leg on Tuesday. “The action will take place at home and away matches, starting with the game against Fulham at Anfield and expanding in stages from there,” they said in a statement.
