Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesco’s pursuit reportedly stopped Liverpool’s hopes to sign Alexander Isaac. Newcastle is said to be afraid that United will miss the ideal alternative to ISAK after hijacking the move at Slovenia International.

Isaac’s surprising decision to tell Newcastle that he wanted to leave prompted a surge in activity in the transfer window. The magpie, already mildly attacked, knew that the exchange had to be procured before allowing the 25-year-old to leave. Sesco is widely understood to be their top target, but the RB Leipzig star is reportedly more interested in the transition to Old Trafford. Whether Isak leaves Newcastle is hinged as to whether Tyneside clothing can find a replacement.

According to the Daily Mail, Man UTD’s strong interest in Sesko thus sparked fear in Newcastle. The 22-year-old is a signature of the Red Devils’ priority after Reuben Amorim missed out on Liam Dellup and Victor Gyoker.

New strikers are on the Manchester agenda. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee scored on seven Premier League goals from last season, urging Amorim to decide that a new centre forward would be needed to play alongside summer arrivals Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

United now leads the race to sign Sesco, and Newcastle could be set to miss the highly cobbeted No. 9.

Boss Eddie Howe has repeatedly said Starman’s exit should be “club-friendly.” It is in reports that Liverpool is preparing an offer. Newcastle is expected to demand at least £150 million.

“He’s still our player. He’s signed us,” Howe said during his trip to Newcastle’s Seoul this week. “We control to a certain extent the following for him. We want to believe that all possibilities are still available.

“My wish is for him to stay, but that’s not in my complete control. We have not received any formal offers to Alex from any club.”

If Newcastle leaves without finding a replacement, Howe can enter the new Premier League season without being recognized in the centre. Callum Wilson made a free transfer last month, but highly rated teenage striker Sean Neave has yet to make his competitive senior debut.

Meanwhile, Liverpool is targeting ISAK despite spending £79 million on Hugo Ekitike earlier this summer. With Louis Diaz leaving for Bayern Munich for £65 million, Anfield’s outfit could give him plenty of headroom for more new arrivals, in a splurge of £300 million.
