Liverpool have had a disastrous season under Arne Slott, with the Dutchman’s status in doubt and the Anfield bosses having made a decision on his future.
Liverpool have no plans to sack Arne Slott and have vowed to give the club time to turn around its rotten fortunes. The Dutchman led the Reds to Premier League glory in his debut season as manager, replacing Jurgen Klopp.
However, Liverpool have failed to reach those heights this season, losing both domestic cup competitions and remaining fifth in the Premier League with seven games remaining.
Their last chance for a silver medal is also close, as they lost 2-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. However, Anfield bosses do not yet appear to be considering letting Slot go adrift.
According to the Telegraph, they believe the former Feyenoord manager is “fit” to lead Liverpool next season, but ideally they would like to give him four transfer windows before making a decision on his future – Slott has only been in charge for three years.
Liverpool are also acutely aware of the difficulty of replacing him. Former midfielder Xabi Alonso was previously targeted but turned down the Merseysiders in favor of remaining at Bayer Leverkusen ahead of a move to Real Madrid.

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has already given his verdict and believes Slott could be on the move if Liverpool miss out on next season’s Champions League qualification.
“It wouldn’t make any difference if he (Slott) won the FA Cup and didn’t finish in the Champions League. I think Liverpool have to follow the (financial) fair play rules and be in the Champions League,” he said last month.
“The more you play in the Champions League, the more quality players you can bring in. I think they need to get a centre-half and they’ll be back there next year.”

“They’ve just fallen off this year and it’s been really strange, which is tough when you win the league like they did, they’ve been in contention for the last couple of years and they’ve got new players coming in.
“Again, they’re playing for Liverpool, one of the biggest clubs in the world. They’ve taken time to cope with it and they’re top-level players, but the club is just a huge football club. I thought he had to be in the top four or he could be the (next) Tottenham manager.”
Fortunately for Liverpool, they have a further chance of qualifying for the Champions League, with five spots currently set for next season in the Premier League.
