Details of the FA Cup semi-finals to be held at the end of this month have been decided. Manchester City face Southampton at Wembley on Saturday 25th April, before facing Chelsea vs. Leeds on Sunday 26th April.

The draw for the final four was completed on Sunday night after Leeds defeated West Ham 4-2 on penalties to book their place at Wembley. The FA then announced the dates and times for both matches.

Both games will be broadcast on TNT Sports, with the City v Saints match also being broadcast on BBC One.

Southampton are the only team outside the Premier League remaining in the competition. Tonda Eckert’s side have defeated Fulham and Arsenal in the last two matches and will now face City at Wembley.

City have reached the last three FA Cup finals, losing to Manchester United and Crystal Palace in their last two. They won the Carabao Cup last month by beating Arsenal 2-0 at Wembley and will be targeting a second silver medal after being eliminated from the Champions League.

Leeds recovered from conceding two goals in stoppage time to win on penalties against West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday. Their reward is reaching the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time in 39 years.

Police are on high alert for the match against Chelsea due to the historic rivalry between the two Premier League teams. There will be a heavy police presence in the area around Wembley later this month, with violence frequently occurring at matches between both clubs in the 1970s and 1980s.

Much is at stake at Wembley, with the FA confirming that the winning club will receive £1.06 million and £530,000 respectively from the competition’s prize fund.

Southampton will be trying to balance their bid for an FA Cup semi-final and promotion from the Championship. Saints are currently unbeaten in 16 games in all competitions and are sixth in the Championship standings after Tuesday night’s 5-1 win over Wrexham.

Eckert’s side still have six games left in the league and the game against City will be the first of two visits to Wembley this spring, with their main aim being hoping to qualify for the Championship play-off final.

Leeds, meanwhile, have other concerns, with manager Daniel Farke tasked with keeping the team in the Premier League. Leeds sit 15th in the table, just four points above the final relegation zone occupied by West Ham.
