Aiden Haven says Manchester United need to copy Arsenal’s ruthlessness when it comes to scoring from the set piece.

The Gunners finished runner-up to Champions Liverpool with 22 goals from the Premier League set pieces last season.

Defender Heaven will join United from Arsenal for £1.5 million in January, saying he wants to emulate the scores of former teammates Gabriel and William Saliba.

“I saw something like Saliba and Gabriel very well,” Heaven said. “I learned a lot from them.

“You can see them very good in the air, they’re from the corner. I said I want to score more in the past, and I’m working on it. That’s what I want to add to my game.

The 18-year-old Heaven started last season for United before an injury at Leicester took him by the sidelines, but he returned to the end of the campaign.

United boss Ruben Amorim has a great faith in a versatile centre-back, and Heaven is planning to make his mark next season and bet his claims on a normal starting point.

“I just want to focus on the basics at this point and join the United team for the new season,” Heaven said.

“I’m really happy. I played in the last few games of the season. I probably played more than I expected and I’m doing well with them.

“I was surprised at how much games I played, but I knew when I was going to play and what I was going to make an impact.

“I can play in the middle of the left, but the left is probably more suited to me because of my ability with the ball.

“I can drive with the ball. I can overlap if I want to and I can move forward more. That’s one of my biggest strengths.”
