Newcastle could lose Alexander Isaac as strikers look at other options this summer – just 12 months after the Swedish forward’s contract promise broke
Newcastle faces the prospect of losing Alexander Isaac this summer – the Swedes want to explore his options from St. James’ park.
The forward has become one of Europe’s elite No. 9, leading the recent rise of magpies, but is now considering new pasture moves. A year after he thought the new contract was on his path, those consultations were shelved in a still stabbing move.
Even before his record-breaking recent season, Isaac is clearly heading towards top-class status, with former co-owners Amanda Starvey and Meldad Godoshi reassuring his camp last March, with improved conditions underway.
However, the change to the hierarchy meant that the promise had been broken and stabbed Isaac. Now, the club hopes to reward his importance with a new contract, so players are instead looking at what could be on his horizon, away from Newcastle.
It all comes back to the decisions made by former sports director Paul Mitchell. The former Monaco and Tottenham chief told Isak that they will not be offered new deals with salaries that could lead to profit and sustainability breach, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Mitchell felt that the Swedes still had four years left to run on his contract, and now they were three, already among the club’s best earners. The decision has confused Isaac and it is allegedly said that his frustration has influenced the entire dressing room.
In light of his great season, when ISAK scored 27 times in all competitions, including one of the Carabao Cup Finals, the club is ready to offer him a significant wage increase, but it may be too little, too late to lumbling that he wants new challenges elsewhere.
Eddie Howe confessed that every decision must benefit Newcastle. The club could land British record fees if ISAK leaves, and the class ultimately made a final call on his future. He said:
“But I think there’s a wide range of pictures here. There’s an entire football club where you have to make a decision. Ownership is of course an opinion, especially with the board of directors, along with the money involved in modern transfers, but ultimately the decision depends on the board.”
