Manchester United are busy with the window after signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, but both players will be working as No. 9, with Red Devils preparing to start the season without a new striker

Manchester United are ready to start a new season without a new striker leading the offense.

The striker was United’s priority in the transfer window this summer after scoring only 44 goals in 15th place in the Premier League last season.

But so far, the two United arrivals had signed wolves Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo’s Matheus Cunha for £711m, neither of which operated as No. 9.

United have seen their top striker targets go everywhere this summer. Liam Dellup has joined Chelsea and Victor Gjoker is trapped in a move to Arsenal, while Hugo Ekicchike is tied up by Liverpool.

Against this backdrop, United seniors have personally confessed that there is every opportunity to start the Premier League opening game at home at Arsenal without a new striker on August 17th.

United are interested in Randal Kolo Muani, a Paris Saint Germain striker who was on the radar two years ago when he paid Rasmus Hojlund a total of £72 million two years ago.

The Red Devils were also able to make swap deals that included winger Alejandro Garnacho – being removed from the US Tour team after asking them to leave – and Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson both cost £40 million.

Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League. Chelsea is his first choice club and is reluctant to sell him to his domestic rivals in moves that could ultimately backfire at United.

Jackson was pushed down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge after Dellup arrived from Ipswich and Brighton from Joan Pedro.

United will focus their transfer business this summer on players with proven Premier League experience who do not require periodic settlement but can run to the ground.

That approach is highlighted by the successful moves of Cunha and Mbeumo, and Jackson is a viable option to solve two problems. We are recruiting new strikers and offloading Garnacho.

United players trained on Wednesday, Chicago’s hottest day. There, temperatures reached 95F as Amorim’s team passed the pace. This is set to have a similar story on Thursday as United players will train at Soldier Field, home to the NFL side Chicago Bears.
