De Zerbi left Marseille in February and is currently without a club. And according to Italy’s Sky, the 46-year-old has not ruled out a return to the Premier League. This comes despite reports last week suggesting De Zerbi was distancing himself from a potential new role until the start of next season, giving him space to consider his options.
However, the Italian appears to have had a sudden change of heart and could play a key role in helping Spurs avoid relegation from the Premier League in the 2025/26 season.
At the time of writing, the Lilywhites sit 17th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone with seven games remaining.
Their next game will be a challenging away trip to the Stadium of Light as they take on in-form Sunderland AFC on Sunday 12th April.
De Zerbi, who managed Brighton from 2022 to 2024, is no stranger to the demands and pressures of English top-flight football.
Nevertheless, his recent performances at Marseille could be a stumbling block, especially considering Spurs’ current dire straits.
The North Londoners have won just seven games all season, with their most recent victory coming in a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in late December.
This comes after Spurs announced that Tudor had left the club on Sunday afternoon.
A statement confirming the news said: “We can confirm that it has been mutually agreed that head coach Igor Tudor will leave the club with immediate effect.
“Tomislav Rozic and Riccardo Ragnacci have also resigned from their respective positions as goalkeeping coach and physical coach.
“We would like to thank Igor, Tomislav and Riccardo for their tireless work over the past six weeks. We also acknowledge the recent bereavement that Igor has suffered and send our support to him and his family at this difficult time.”
“Updates regarding the new head coach will be provided in due course.”
