Arsenal fans could see their team win their first league title since 2004 away at West Ham – and the Hammers are looking to ensure there are no away supporters in the home end
West Ham have told fans who bought tickets for the match against Arsenal in May without a booking history that they will need to prove they are a supporter to be allowed into the London Stadium.
The Gunners are nine points adrift of the Premier League summit and travel to east London to face West Ham on May 9, potentially clinching their first domestic title in more than 20 years. And there are already concerns that Arsenal fans are buying up tickets in their home areas of the ground to see their team win the title.
A new report from The Sun reveals that West Ham have been in contact with fans who bought tickets without a booking history.
They then told supporters they must prove their loyalty to the club with “photo evidence” of themselves and their guests at a match or wearing West Ham merchandise.

The report also includes emails sent by the box office to some first-time buyers, which read: “We are currently carrying out ticket checks for this match to ensure that away supporters do not purchase tickets at the home end and are therefore informing you that your ticket is currently on hold and you will not be permitted to enter the stadium on the day of the match in accordance with our terms and conditions.”
“These terms and conditions were accepted by you during the purchase process and state: “Tickets for home matches may only be used by supporters of the club.”
“We require proof that you and your guest are West Ham United supporters, as you either have no previous booking history with us or are only/mainly booking for this particular match.
“Therefore, could you please provide photographic evidence that you are a West Ham United supporter (from a party, event or match venue where you wore West Ham merchandise, or West Ham related evidence (please note that merchandise must be purchased by January 2026)?”
Arsenal hope to be crowned on May 9 and could do so if they match Manchester City’s results over the next four weeks, but West Ham are in a scrap for survival at the other end of the table and this game means both teams will be well rested.
