Randal Kolo Muani reportedly wants to return to former loan club Juventus after a brief stint at Tottenham. Since joining the Premier League, the 27-year-old has struggled to reproduce the form he briefly showed at Juventus, where he scored 10 goals in 22 appearances.
Of the 34 games he has played for Spurs in total, he has only scored half of the goals, with only one of those coming in the Premier League, so it would be no surprise if his current club find themselves in a relegation battle. Regardless of which division Spurs play in, Kolo Muani will almost certainly not be in north London next season, with his sights set on a reunion elsewhere.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Frenchman has made it clear to Juventus that he wants to return to the national team. According to the paper, the Serie A side ended his loan to Spurs early and even tried to sign him in the January transfer window.
However, his parent club Paris Saint-Germain are said to be seeking a permanent departure this summer, and that was not possible. Juve tried to sign him from PSG ahead of the 2025/26 season, but no deal could be reached over a transfer fee as the Ligue 1 champions wanted to recoup as much of the £76.4m they spent on signing him from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Interestingly, most of Kolo Muani’s goals for Tottenham this season have come against his former employers, with the striker scoring twice in the 5-3 defeat to PSG, and then scoring in the 2-0 win in Frankfurt. His remaining goals came on home soil against Arsenal and Atlético Madrid.
One of his four assists this season was for Richarlison’s equalizer at Anfield against Liverpool. Despite limited playing time under manager Igor Tudor, he contributed three goals and proved he still has a role to play in Tottenham’s campaign.
He played 23 minutes in a 3-0 defeat to relegation rivals Nottingham Forest, but it could be his last game for Spurs under Tudor, with the interim head coach also likely to be separated during the international break.
Former Brighton managers Roberto de Zerbi and Adi Hütter are the latest to be linked with the role until the end of the season. USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino is the most likely candidate to take charge beyond next season, although that could depend on Spurs’ status in the Premier League.
