Manchester United were held to a thrilling draw with Bournemouth, leaving the Red Devils with 10 men. Harry Maguire was sent off for denying a scoring opportunity when he brought down Evanilsson in the box with the Red Devils in the lead. Eli Junior Crupi converted a penalty to save the Cherries a point at the end of a turbulent second half.
The game was an end-to-end affair, with both teams having plenty of chances before United took the lead. After Matheus Cunha was brought down inside the area, Bruno Fernandes stepped up and curled a shot into the bottom corner of the goal, past Petrovic in the opposite direction. It was a huge disappointment for United, who were denied a further penalty moments later when Amad’s protests were waved away when he was forced to the ground.
Bournemouth went straight up at the other end and Ryan Christie scored the equalizer with a shot from the edge of the box. The case was controversial, given that just seconds earlier there had been an appeal for a huge penalty. United quickly regained the lead through a James Hill own goal, but the final and most important development of the story hurt them. Maguire had no complaints as Crupi made no mistake from 12 yards and was sent off before sharing the spoils.

Apart from a silly foul that gave Bournemouth a free-kick in a dangerous position, they fulfilled their defensive duties well enough.
He was playing well until he was sent off for giving away the penalty that tied Bournemouth. A decisive mistake that determined the outcome.
Bournemouth’s wingers struggled in the first half against Ryan, causing havoc. Things improved after the break.
They defended the back four well, but other than making safe passes, they didn’t really contribute much in possession. I made a reservation.
Decent but unremarkable in the middle of the park. Helped keep things moving and control the tempo of possession spells.

He moved well, but wasn’t much of a threat in the box. The Red Devils have now gone six games without scoring.

He was brought on late in the game when United were reduced in numbers. But you wouldn’t have known that. Anonymous.
They were tasked with staying solid at the back for the final 10 minutes, and as Bournemouth heated up, they did their job well.
