Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has been solidly on the ongoing transfer saga surrounding Swedish star Alexander Isaac. Howe confirmed that Liverpool has not yet made a formal offer to players currently in the UK.

Nevertheless, the coaches believe there is still a chance that Isaac will remain in Newcastle for the 2025/26 season.

At a press conference in Seoul, South Korea, Hau told Chronicle Live:

“We control the following to him to some extent. I would like to believe that all possibilities are still available. My wish is for him to stay, but that is not my complete control.”

Hau further stated: “We have not received any formal offers from Alex from any club. My wish is that he will stay and we will see him play again next year.”

When asked if he had discussed Isaac’s situation with Newcastle management, Howe replied.

“On these trips, they’re always very intense. Of course I’m in touch with people who need to go back home, but when you’re away, it’s very minimal contact.”

Isaac, who reported a thigh injury before the squad’s trip to Asia, retreated from the training session and did not join the team on the tour, which included three matches.

It was then revealed that the Swedish forward had expressed his desire to consider his potential transfer. Liverpool has been associated with striker movements over the summer.

Isak still has three years left on the contract, but discussions on the strengthened transaction have not yet begun. Newcastle is believed to estimate the forward value to be around £150 million.
