Galatasaray star Noah Lang posted a photo of himself and teammate Victor Osimhen after they both went to hospital with serious injuries in the game against Liverpool
Noah Lang released a photo of his hand in a cast after undergoing surgery for a serious thumb injury. Lang suffered a serious injury in Galatasaray’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday night, requiring oxygen and having to be taken away on a stretcher.
He was taken to hospital and underwent surgery for a “serious cut” on his thumb, which he sustained when he crashed into an advertising street at Anfield late in the Champions League last-16 match.
The 26-year-old suffered and Galatasaray have since threatened legal action against UEFA. Lang has been recovering since undergoing surgery on his right thumb at Whiston Hospital and posted a photo on Instagram with the caption: “The surgery went well! Thank you for all the messages.” He previously posted, “This kind of thing happens.”
Lang was not the only Galatasaray player to sustain a serious injury during the match, with striker Victor Osimhen also absent with an arm problem, which the club later confirmed was a broken forearm.

The two affected teammates spoke on Facetime Thursday and seemed relieved to know they were in a similar situation. Posting a screenshot of the two laughing and holding up casts, Lang tagged Osimhen and wrote “twins” with a heart emoji.
While the players are trying to stay positive, Galatasaray are considering their options following Lang’s freak injury. “After the match, we lodged a complaint with UEFA representatives. They also conducted an investigation,” club general secretary Elai Yazgan said.
“UEFA will assess this matter. We are in negotiations with our lawyers. We will file a compensation case against UEFA. We will ask for the compensation damages to be removed.”
The club released a statement regarding both players, saying: “During the first half of the away match against Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16, our player Victor Osimhen suffered a blow to the arm and finished the first half, but half-time tests revealed that he was unable to play in the second half due to the risk of breaking his arm.”
“After the match, tests at the hospital under the supervision of the medical team revealed a fracture in the player’s right forearm, which was placed in a cast. Following further tests, a decision on surgery will be made in the coming days.”
“Later in the same match, our injured player Noah Lang sustained a serious injury to his right thumb and will undergo surgery in the next few hours in Liverpool with the participation of our medical team.”
