Liverpool and Arsenal are the only Premier League clubs remaining in the Champions League after two weeks of last-16 matches. Thanks to the new format of Europe’s premier competition, both clubs already know who awaits them in the quarter-finals. After the Portuguese giants’ stunning comeback against Bodo/Glimt, the Gunners face Sporting over two games, while Liverpool are handed a reunion with holders Paris Saint-Germain, who beat Chelsea.
The knowledge of the draw allowed UEFA to quickly confirm the schedule for the quarter-finals, which will see the two English clubs alternate. And as a result, both Liverpool and Arsenal were given some tasty games…

The reigning Premier League champions have a busy April ahead of them, with a five-game series set to test Arne Slott’s side next month. And given how they’re doing in 2026, this is probably a nightmare scenario. They will face rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals before heading to Paris to face PSG in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
After a midweek trip to France, Fulham await an evening kick-off at Anfield. The 11th-placed Cottages and Liverpool, who dream of European football, are yet to beat them in the slot, having drawn twice (both 2-2) and lost once (3-2) in goal-filled matches. PSG will not give him any rest until his return to Anfield next Tuesday.
Whatever happens in Europe, Liverpool will have to brace themselves for next weekend’s first-ever Merseyside derby against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The Toffees have struggled to replicate their Goodison Park form at their new stadium, but there is no doubt they will be keen to make it a fortress against their rivals.

It will also be a fun month for the Premier League champions. Like Liverpool, they are looking forward to the FA Cup quarter-finals against Southampton, who will be looking to secure promotion to the Championship after the international break. There will be no rollover as the Saints are currently unbeaten in 13 games.
Having topped the Champions League table, Arsenal are now guaranteed a place at home if they can reach the second legs of the quarter-finals and semi-finals. This means they will travel to Lisbon after the FA Cup match. Bournemouth awaits between two games against the Portuguese side, who sit second behind Porto in La Liga.
Arsenal lost at home to Bournemouth last season, and conceded two goals away to the Cherries in January, so it won’t be an easy game either. With their European fate decided, Arsenal’s attention quickly turns to the match against the Mammoths on Sunday 19th March, a trip to Man City. This game has long been touted by many as a title-clinching showdown, but with the current standings, Arsenal know that avoiding defeat at the Etihad will go a long way towards winning their first title since 2004.
