Vinicius Junior teases Manchester City fans after putting Real Madrid ahead at the Etihad as the Premier League team is set to withdraw from the Champions League
Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior celebrated his goal against Manchester City by cheering home fans inside the Etihad Stadium. The forward converted from the penalty spot after Bernardo Silva was sent off for handball.
The Spanish giants entered the Etihad Stadium with a 3-0 lead thanks to a defensive effort after Federico Valverde scored a hat-trick in the first half. City faced Rayan Cherki in the second leg, with Rodri making a good save from Thibaut Courtois.
However, the situation changed when Madrid were awarded a penalty. Vinicius fired a shot that hit the post, but from the rebound he took another shot towards goal, which was cleared on the line by Silva.

Claims of a penalty were initially silenced when the linesman’s flag went up, deeming Vinicius to be offside.
However, after a lengthy VAR review, referee Clement Turpin was forced to send off Silva for using his elbow to clear the ball.
Despite missing one against City last week, Vinicius took the penalty himself and sent Gianluigi Donnarumma the wrong way.
After running up to the away fans, the Brazilian turned to the City fans and appeared to congratulate them, telling them to “cry, cry”.
The forward was heavily booed by the home fans after scoring and was jeered early in the match.
The incident comes just weeks after Vinicius reported to the referee that he had used a racial slur at Benfica after Gianluca Prestiani went off to celebrate after scoring the opener.
Meanwhile, at the Etihad, Josep Guardiola was all smiles before half-time when Erling Haaland pulled a goal back to make it 1-1 on the night and 4-1 on aggregate.
